Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The massive portion sizes at The Galley receive rave reviews from diners. Customers often mention the value for money, especially during lunch specials, making it a go-to spot for budget-conscious eaters. The crispy, golden batter on the fish is consistently praised, providing that perfect crunch while retaining the fish's freshness.

Another highlight is the Kebab on Chip, known for its generous size and richness in flavor—definitely a must-try. Friendly staff add to the overall positive experience, making repeat visits common among loyal patrons. Many express their love for the inviting community vibe, noting how the restaurant feels like a home away from home.

Most Disliked

Occasional waits during peak hours can be a downside, especially on busy nights. Some guests comment on the hustle and bustle, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays, when the atmosphere turns lively, though it can lead to longer wait times for food.

A few diners have noted that the limited seating might be an issue during particularly busy times. While the casual setting enhances the experience, it sometimes lacks sufficient tables, especially when groups and families gather. A note for those planning to visit during peak hours—arriving a bit earlier or opting for takeaway might ease any potential inconveniences.

Tremendous. Had the sausage supper lunchtime special. Comes with a can and a sauce. At £7.50 this is excellent value. Staff are friendly, efficient and down to earth. I sat in but you can get takeaway too. They take card and cash. They seem to have their regular customers, which makes sense given how good the food is. Clean chip shop with very good food. Highly recommended. I will be back soon!

1st visit just tonight (02.08.25). Nice enough place inside whuch has a few tables and chairs to sit in, we opted for takeaway. I went for the kids chicken nuggets with chips, which came eith a Sukie carton. £5.50 then my hubby had a 1/4 lbs steak burry, cheese and relish sauce.... He said that it was the best burger he'd had out of a takeaway for a long time... My chips where nice too... Definitely go back... You can alwo pay by card or cash. Plus online ordering. 5⭐⭐⭐⭐
